Having been elected in the 2024 General Election Andrew Snowden's constituency office is in St Annes, continuing a tradition of Conservative representation in Fylde.
Andrew grew up in a family committed to public service. Following in the footsteps of his parents, who instilled in him the values of hard work and community involvement, he studied Contemporary Military and International History at the University of Salford. As first in his family to graduate from university he served as the Students' Union President.
After university, Andrew's career path took him through various roles in education and public administration, notably returning to the University of Salford as the Associate Director of External Relations, where he enhanced his understanding of community engagement and strategic planning.
His political journey began when he joined the Conservative Party, inspired by local politicians. His commitment to local issues was solidified when he served as the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner from 2021 to 2024. This role provided him with invaluable experience in community safety and public policy.
Selected as the Conservative candidate for Fylde just before the 2024 election, Andrew campaigned on a platform of economic revitalisation, community welfare, and environmental stewardship, emphasising the importance of local agriculture, flood defences, and infrastructure improvements - particularly on the roads.
During his maiden speech in the House of Commons, Andrew highlighted the unique blend of rural charm and urban vibrancy in Fylde, stressing the need for balanced development that respects both our heritage and our potential for growth. He also spoke of his personal life, expressing gratitude for the support of his wife, Caroline, and their young son, Walter, who, despite his young age, has already begun to understand the importance of community service.
In Parliament, Andrew is already proving to be an active advocate for Fylde, raising the concerns brought to him by constituents.
