Andrew is urging the Post Office to urgently reconsider its decision to close the Teanlowe Post Office in Poulton-le-Fylde, as the campaign to save this vital community hub gains remarkable momentum.
In just days, over 3,000 residents have signed a petition hosted at www.andrewsnowden.uk/campaigns, demonstrating widespread support for keeping the post office open. The campaign was officially launched last week, with 60 dedicated campaigners gathering at the Teanlowe Post Office to highlight the importance of this essential service.
Andrew Snowden said:
"The Teanlowe Post Office serves as a lifeline for our community, particularly elderly residents and local businesses. With no banks in Poulton, its role in providing access to financial services is indispensable. Its closure would have a devastating impact on our town centre and the local economy. That’s why I’m calling on the Labour Government and the Post Office to work together to reverse this decision and protect this vital service.”
County Councillor for Poulton le-Fylde, Alf Clempson added:
"This is a team effort. We need everyone in Poulton to get behind the campaign and sign the petition to show just how much we need our post office. Together, we can send a strong message that this closure must not go ahead."
Andrew has already raised the issue in Parliament during Business Questions and has written to the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds, urging his intervention. He has also invited Mr Reynolds to visit Poulton-le-Fylde to witness firsthand the critical role the Teanlowe Post Office plays in the community.
With growing support, Andrew Snowden is encouraging residents to continue adding their voices to the campaign. To sign the petition or find out more, visit www.andrewsnowden.uk/campaigns.
