Andrew Snowden is the new Member of Parliament for Fylde. He's a proud Lancastrian, husband to Caroline and Dad to Walter. Here's his plan to improve our area...
Farming is vital to residents and businesses across Fylde. It must be that we grow as much of our food as possible, and we will always be a strong voice on the side of our local farmers.
Flooding has destroyed many homes and livelihoods, and the basics of flood management must be done well. We will work tirelessly to make sure this happens and that the authorities are held to account for the investment needed.
Our beaches, rivers and coastlines must be protected from sewage and pollution. We will make sure United Utilities are held to account and work with campaigners and residents to ensure our water is safe for everyone.
We’ve opened the new A585 bypass near Poulton, the new M55 link road to Lytham and the new Preston Western Distributor link road. But there is still work to be done, especially on our rail network and we will use his experience to fight for more investment.
It is critical for residents and our local economy that we protect local jobs and local businesses. We will push for more employment opportunities and support businesses from our small high-street shops to the large defence sector in Fylde.
There has been significant investment in infrastructure across Fylde. But we must also ensure our area is protected from over-development. We will work with local communities to protect our towns and villages.
