Andrew Snowden, MP for Fylde, is calling on the Post Office to urgently reconsider its decision to close the Teanlowe Post Office in Poulton-le-Fylde.
This vital community hub is relied upon by many residents, particularly older individuals, for essential services. In just a matter of days, the campaign to save the Teanlowe Post Office has garnered significant public support, with over 2,000 signatures on the petition hosted at www.andrewsnowden.uk/campaigns.
Andrew Snowden said: The Teanlowe Post Office in Poulton-Le-Fylde serves as a lifeline for a considerable segment of our community, particularly our elderly residents and local businesses. And with no banks in Poulton, our local post office has a vital role ensuring access to financial services. The closure of our Post Office would have a devastating impact on our town centre and local businesses. That is why I am calling on the Labour Government and the Post Office to work together to reconsider this decision.”
Breck Ward Councillor, Peter le Marinel added, “We need as many people as possible in Poulton to support the campaign to give us the best chance of keeping our Post Office open. It’s a team effort, everyone in Poulton needs to sign the petition to show how much we need to keep this Post Office open.”
The MP has already taken the campaign to Parliament by raising the issue at Business Questions in the House of Commons. He has also written to Jonathan Reynolds, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, urging his intervention and inviting him to visit Poulton-le-Fylde to see firsthand the critical role the Teanlowe Post Office plays in the community.
The campaign continues to gain momentum, and Andrew is encouraging residents to add their voices by signing the petition. For more information or to get involved, visit www.andrewsnowden.uk/campaigns.
