Andrew Snowden, MP for Fylde, has taken the fight to save the Teanlowe Post Office in Poulton-le-Fylde directly to Parliament, raising the issue during Business Questions in the House of Commons. The petition to save this vital community hub has now reached an incredible 2,400 signatures, demonstrating the overwhelming support from residents to keep the Post Office open.
The Teanlowe Post Office is a lifeline for many local residents, particularly older individuals and small businesses, offering essential services that are even more critical given the lack of banks in Poulton. Its closure would be a devastating blow to the town centre and its economy.
Andrew Snowden said:
"The Teanlowe Post Office is the beating heart of Poulton-le-Fylde, providing crucial services to elderly residents, local businesses, and the wider community. Without it, many people would struggle to access basic financial services. That’s why I’ve raised this in Parliament and written to Jonathan Reynolds, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, urging him to intervene and rethink this decision. I’ve also invited him to Poulton to see firsthand how vital this Post Office is."
The campaign continues to gather momentum, with residents urged to lend their voices by signing the petition at www.andrewsnowden.uk/campaigns.
